Water, one of nature’s classical elements, can inspire web design. Water conjures feelings of peace, calm, tranquility, wonder and renewal.

As the LA Times reports, the project includes some big Hollywood names, including Andy Jones, animation director on “Avatar,” Joichi Ito, director of the MIT Media Lab, and Neville Spiteri, Wemo Media founder.
The Pacific Whale Foundation in Hawaii, uses a photo carousel to display huge, full-screen images of whales frolicking in the ocean. Nice aquatic themed site!
The Pacific Life Insurance Company uses the whale and water theme in their branding and on their website to project power and majesty.
